Southern Bike Tour – Tel Aviv Beach Promenade towards Jaffa Port
Beginning at Gordon Beach, the tour heads south on the beach promenade to The Dolphinarium, and continues as it passes by the old Hassan Beq Mosque. Riding through the Charles Clore Park, the tour will arrive at the Etzel house to receive a short lecture on the founding underground movements that were in Israel before 1948. The tour will then continue to a beautiful lookout on Jaffa Port, where the group will enjoy a fantastic view on both cities, and see how the coastline of old Jaffa and the antique port contrast with the skyscrapers and lively coastline of Tel Aviv. Finally, the bike ride will enter Jaffa Port and hear about its 4000 years of history, being the main gate to Israel and what has become of it today. If you’re lucky, Jaffa’s fishermen will be swinging their nets and rods, and you might even watch them during a big fat catch. If the time will allow, a short stop for cold Malabi (Middle Eastern famous dessert) is highly recommended. The bike tour then returns to Gordon beach and is circular.
This tour is especially magical at evening and sunset hours.
